TCI Filters
The HG7 Drive-Applied
Harmonic Filters have been proven to be the most effective harmonic distortion mitigation technique available for drives. The HG7
not only limits current distortion to less than 7% TDD, it also improves true power factor. Multiple package options will allow
TCI customers to choose the right filter configuration for the application. Since every power system is different,

Motortronics Starter
Multiple Ramp Profiles,
Pump-Flex Decel, process control timers and advanced motor protection make the VMX Series soft starter adaptable to a wide variety
of AC motor applications no need for add-on modules or costly auxillary devices. Compact packaging has become critical in more and
more electrical installations. The VMX Series meets this need without compromising features and ratings.

 PSE Series |
PSE - The Efficient Range
The PSE softstarter is the world's first compact softstarter with both
Built-in Electronic Overload for motor protection and torque
control for an excellent control of pumps. The compact design with the most important functionality integrated provides a
very efficient starting solution.
The illuminated language neutral display and the four button keypad make it easy to take advantage of all
the advanced functionality in the softstarter. The display will also provide all the necessary information both during
ramping and continuous operation.

we will do our best to help you find the ABB PST Soft Starters that you are looking for at the most competitive prices
possible. If you are searching for ABB PSS Soft Start technical information (data-sheets) please use the datasheets or
product selection guide page links.

 PSR Series |
PSR - The Compact Range
The PSR softstarter is the most compact of all the softstarter ranges, thereby making it possible to
design compact starting equipments. The system concept with manual motor starters and the PSR provides a far more compact
starting solution than for instance a star delta starter.
Built-in By-Pass reduces the energy loss and makes the
connection easier and with only three potentiometers, the set-up couldn't be any easier. Still, the optimized ramping
characteristics will ensure a very smooth start and stop for all applications.
|
 PSS Series |
PSS - The Flexible Range
The PSS softstarter allows both in line and inside delta connection making it a very flexible option. Just
as on the PSR softstarter, the few settings make the set-up very easy. Connecting an external current transformer makes it
possible to activate the current limit function, which will allow you to keep the current at a pre-set level also when
starting heavy duty applications. The PSS softstarter is the ideal solution when looking for a robust solid state starting
solution where many starts per hour are required.
|
 PST(B) Series |
PST(B) - The Advanced Range
The PST(B) softstarter is the most advanced softstarter in the range with almost all imaginable
functionality included. All the advanced protections for the motor, the softstarter and the load ensure a trouble free
operation. Pre-warnings even allow problems to be detected before the motor needs to be stopped and thereby avoiding
unnecessary downtime.
The torque control function has been developed and tested together with well known pump manufacturers to
ensure the absolutely best possible stop of pumps without water hammering and pressure surges. With the full text LCD display
in your own language, pre-programmed application settings and event logging, it couldn't be easier to set-up and operate. By
using the ABB FieldBusPlug, you can decide at any time which bus protocol to use. The fieldbus system will allow you to
set-up, control and monitor the softstarter.
|
 FBP FieldBusPlug |
FBP FieldBusPlug
ABB has developed a technology which allows control equipment to be connected to any fieldbus system by
using the appropriate "smart" connecting cable. The motor controls are fitted with a non-specific bus connector into which
one end of the cable is plugged. The other end of the cable has a connector to the chosen bus system. The cable incorporates
the "intelligence" needed to translate the signals for the appropriate protocol.
ABB says the FieldBusPlug will simplify project planning, commissioning and maintenance, and provide
greater flexibility.

Type PEB Power Electronic Brake |
Electronic braking stops the load by injecting a controlled amount of DC current into a three phase AC
motor. The Power Electronic Brake (PEB) Series features full-wave DC braking which can be adjusted to stop your load quickly, repeatedly and reliably even if load
conditions change. Unlike other brakes that only provide voltage control, the PEB Series is a current regulated brake. It
automatically adjusts for resistance changes in the motor windings due to any input voltage fluctuations. What does this
mean? Repeatable, reliable operation every time you stop your motor.
An exceptionally accurate method of microprocessor controlled sensing determines when the motor shaft has
come to a stop. Braking current is removed when the motor stops, eliminating excess braking current which means longer motor
life. Built-in jogging circuitry allows you to select the time you need for machine setup and positioning without applying DC
current to the motor windings. DC current is only applied when system setup is complete no excess current, no excess heating,
no premature motor failure. The PEB Series has a built-in feature to control a mechanical holding brake. Any fault indication
automatically enables the mechanical brake for fail-safe operation. The PEB Series has been designed and tested to meet the
most stringent industry standards: UL & cUL.
