ABB High Ambient Temperature motor for demanding environments is available in a standard configuration, capable of operating in temperatures of up to 90°C. Suitable for applications such as in the metallurgical, wood and food industries, in brick and glass manufacturing, or for drying sheds and bakeries, where high temperatures are crucial to many industrial processes. The motors are harmonized to IEC - CENELEC power and frame size standards and are ready available from central stock.

ABB permanent magnet motor range extends the effective nominal speed range of the rugged industry workhorses down to 100 - 850 r/min. The motors can simplify drive systems by effectively eliminating the need of speed reduction devices. They are designed exclusively for frequency converter supply, where they provide high speed accuracy even without speed sensors because they are synchronous motors without rotor slip.

ABB Smoke venting motors are designed to offer maximum performance for venting applications - tunnels, car parks, department stores etc. - in both normal operation and emergency conditions - dual purpose certified.

Fully certified, to match each safety demand, from motors that can withstand 200°C for 2 hours to the highest range with assured operation at 400°C for 2 hours.

Water cooling is a very efficient method of transferring heat away from the motor, and ABB water cooled motors provide high output power per unit of weight. Cooling efficiency is maintained even at lower speeds, which is especially important in constant torque applications.

These advantages make the motors ideal for a range of uses, including marine applications, water and waste water pumping, printing machines, and wind turbine generators. The basic structure of the motors is optimized for variable speed use.

The roller table motors supplied by ABB are squirrel cage motors which are specially designed for use with frequency converters. Robust in construction, the motors are fully sealed to withstand the tough conditions in rolling mills.

The motors are low speed units intended for direct connection to rollers. The pole number and frequency can be selected, avoiding the need for Gearboxes and therefore saving on maintenance costs and increasing the overall efficiency of the drive.
