The SolaHD SLAC
surge protection device is specifically designed to protect electronic instruments used by the water/wastewater industries. It
combines hybrid AC power protection and signal line protection in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate case. The AC power suppressor can supply
up to 1,875 Watts and has a 15 Amp replaceable fuse to prevent overloading of the protective elements. A "Power On" LED provides

Weidmuller SPD
The TP Series of SPD's
uniquely provide a level of protection for 2, 3 and 4 wire field-mounted transmitters that is far in excess of the optional
transient protection facilities available from the transmitter manufacturers - without involving any additional wiring, conduit
modifications or other expensive extras. The TP Series protection network consists of high-power, solid-state electronics and a
gas-filled discharge tube capable of diverting 20kA impulses.
Type 1 TVSS is designed to dissipate energy caused by an overvoltage comparable to that of a direct
lightning strike. It has successfully passed testing to the standard with the 10/350 wave (Class I test). Type 1 units are
recommended for locations having a high exposure to lightning, for example, line entrances to buildings protected by
lightning rods or powered by aerial lines, wind mills and cell towers. These products are installed at the entrance of the
installation (such as main distribution board).

we will do our best to help you find the ABB Transient Voltage Surge Suppressors that you are looking for at competitive
prices. If you are searching for ABB Low Voltage OVR Series technical information (data-sheets) please use the datasheets or
product selection guide page links.
First select the TVSS MCOV (Maximum Continuous Operating Voltage). The MCOV should correspond to your system voltage.
Second select the TVSS kA rating. The kA rating is the amount of lightning energy the unit can handle during a
lightning event. The kA rating is not a short circuit rating. The higher the kA rating the longer the unit will protect
your system.
Third select the TVSS options. Depending on your application you may want to select a TVSS unit with additional
options. The OVR range can be ordered with a safety reserve ("S" in the part number), a pluggable MOV ("P" in the part
number), or with an auxillary contact ("TS" in the part number).
Cells and inverters are very sensitive to overvoltage and impulse currents, such as switching and
lightning surges. The ABB surge arrester range for special DC limits the overvoltage to an acceptable level for the equipment
to be protected and prevent damage to installations. Therefore, the risk of financial losses should be taken into account
when considering an investment in solar panels. One of the benefits of using SPDs is a better return on investment.
The OVR PV is suitable for the on-grid version and auto-protected up to 25 A for end of life. The device
has remote signal control and removable cartridges for easy maintenance without needing to isolate the line. The E90 PV fuse
disconnector offers backup protection of OVR PV and can be padlocked in its open position.
The OVR NE12 enclosed SPD is the newest addition to ABB's surge protective device line. The new OVR NE12
is designed for a long service life, protecting valuable equipment from damage due to lightning strikes and surges from
upstream equipment and utility load switching. The OVR NE12 is a UL 1449 3rd Edition certified Type 2 SPD enclosed within a
NEMA Type 12 enclosure, designed for installation indoors on the load side of the main breaker or fuse.
Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) technology is utilized to achieve a high level of protection performance, and
allows for ease of module replacement. Each OVR NE12 comes standard with status lights, alarm, auxiliary contacts, EMI
filtering and A Fused Disconnect. A highlight is the optional surge counter/diagnostic
LCD display. Surges 2kA and above are recorded with date and time. Also, this option provides enhanced information on unit
status.
