Idec Smart Relays continue to provide the same high quality you expect, while offering new features to save you even more time and money. Idec SmartRelays have always been a great value. The modular and adaptable base modules are equipped with 8 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs. That means that the SmartRelay can expand up to 24 digital inputs, 16 digital outputs and 8 analog inputs. Available with an LCD for simple display and monitoring, or in a non-LCD version for OEM purposes, your choices go on and on. Programming can be done from the built-in LCD screen or with our WindLGC software, and communications are made even simpler with LonWorks and AS-Interface communication modules.

Idec SmartRelays are also UL/c-UL listed, CE certified, EMC compliant, FM approved for Class 1 Div 2 hazardous locations and C-tick compliant. But that's not all. The compact and expandable FL1D Idec SmartRelay is now even better than ever. The new PI controller enables you to control temperature, pressure or level with six predefined parameter sets, and with a fixed cycle time of 0.5 seconds. The new ramp function enables control of frequency converters with two analog speeds for adjustable acceleration and deceleration. The new analog multiplexer enables you to output four preset analog values for simple control. Each of these enhanced firmware functions offer fast and simple solutions to expand the area of your application instead of requiring a micro PLC.

A solution always begins with a need. In this case, the engineer of a company who had not previously been an ABB Controls customer was in the midst of a new design update for an induction machine. He was requesting a quotation for a Tmax main circuit breaker with a cable operated flange handle mechanism, a design solution similar to that which his company had been using for years. ABB provided a 70% savings in cost, greater competitiveness and higher profits. ABB's Business Development Management Team understood that to just offer the customer the same solution that he had used in the past might suffice to solve the problem, but greater cost savings Value-Added Solutions were possible. Not wanting to disappoint the customer, ABB gave them a quote for the requested solution, as well as an interesting alternative solution: an ABB Tmax molded case breaker with a through-the-door handle mechanism.

Not only did the ABB alternative save money on the ABB provided components, it also allowed for savings on the panel, by enabling the engineer to use a different, smaller and less expensive panel. The customer really liked the cost savings and the extra thought ABB had given to his needs. He understood that ABB wanted to solve his problem, not just sell a product. The customer was able to achieve an overall savings of 70% over his previous design. He made his company more competitive and more profitable. By offering solutions, ABB gained a satisfied, long-term customer, while the end-user gained a design partner he could count on. The new ABB Circuit Breakers Tmax series has a hologram on the front, obtained using special anti-imitation techniques, which guarantees the quality and that the circuit breaker is an original ABB product.

Weidmuller SCCR-rated Terminal Fuse Blocks Offer Class CC Fuse Protection

Weidmuller now offers new DIN-rail mounted fuse terminal blocks for equipment requiring fast overload protection. The WSI 25 fuse terminal blocks accept 13/32" by 1.5" (10.3x38mm) Class CC fuses and have a Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) of 200kA. They are designed for high current and high voltage applications, making them ideal for protecting components such as Transformers, Motors and solenoids.

The WSI 25 Terminal Fuse Blocks are compact and touch-safe, with an easy-to-access lever for quick and safe fuse replacement. The Class CC fuse holder accommodates a variety of fuse ratings designed to offer circuit protection for specific application requirements. Class CC type fuses are fast acting and offer the highest current limiting performance available for their size. A rejection feature integrated into the holder prevents the insertion of a lower rated or non-Class CC fuse. An optional LED blown fuse indicator helps reduce troubleshooting time with fast and easy failure identification.

Weidmuller's WSI 25 terminal fuse blocks are available in 1, 2 or 3 pole configurations, and feature a vented housing to reduce internal heating and extend fuse life. Each of the new blocks accept multiple wire inputs ranging from 18AWG to 4AWG, and are UL and CSA rated to 600V, 30A.
