The FP7 is dedicated to the total integration into Web applications. In the event of fault, no SD memory card is needed to return to a previously saved backup program.

The control unit is small at 90 mm 3.54 in in height and 25 mm 0.98 in in width. Even when expanded with three expansion units, the total width is only 100 mm. The expansion unit can be attached easily without any cables to the control unit. Special expansion cables, backplanes, and so forth, are unnecessary as the expansion unit employs a stacking system that uses expansion connectors and lock levers on the surface of the unit itself.
The ultra-compact space-saving body size facilitates the miniaturization of target machines, equipment, and control panels. The number of I/O points is expandable up to 128 by adding three expansion units having 32 I/O points each to one control unit equipped with 32 I/O points. FP-X0 programmable controllers include the functionality required for simple automation applications. The FP-X PLC comes with a wide range of features suitable for most applications and is designed to save development cost. The FP2SH is not only one of the smallest rack systems in the market, but one of the most powerful. The FP2SH can essentially be a motion controller. It can control up to 64 axes and output up to a 1MHz pulse train or 256 network servo axes. With a response time of less than 0.1 ms and a scan time of 1ms for a 20K step program, the total overhead delay for a 32 axis A series servo system is only 2.2ms.
The FP2 can currently support four types of networks: Ethernet, Profibus-DP, MEWNET and Remote I/O. It is possible to have up to 8 network units per rack, and all three can be supported at the same time. There are 2 types of Windows based 32 bit programming software available. FPWIN-GR, easy programming with powerful features and FPWIN-PRO, IEC61131 based object oriented programming.
More advanced and complex control is required for PLCs in accordance with equipment functionality enhancements, such as the support of multi-axial positioning, multi-point temperature control, serial communications, or networking. A greater programming memory capacity is thus being increasingly required, even for compact models. FPS V3 has a programming capacity of 32 k steps, which is approx. 2.7 times bigger than our conventional model and can accommodate an increase in the number and complexity of programs without difficulty.
Upgraded equipment also requires an increase in the operation speed of PLCs to process increased programs in addition to the expansion of the program memory. FPS V3 is compact in size but equipped with a RISC processor. The basic instruction operation speed is 0.32 µs/step, which is 1.2 times faster than our conventional model. The speed of high-level instruction operations, including floating point operations, is also high, reducing the total scan time. The FPS (Sigma) positioning unit can handle simultaneous startup of multiple axes, enabling simultaneous control of linear interpolation and other elements through user programs.
Aromat NAiS established a new world standard "SLIM" PLC. Starting from 10 I/O to 32 I/O, the CPU is only 25(w) x 90(h) x 70(d)mm. This is about 1/4 the size of the traditional bulky PLC style called "Brick".
The FP0 NAiS PLC saves precious panel space and money. Relay output types have removable screw terminal blocks. The power supply connector is also quick to disconnect. Easy installation especially when duplicating many systems.
Up to 16 loops of PID and auto tuning are built into this "SLIM" PLC. The FP0 uses floating point math for its PID calculation which is more accurate than an integer PID. With the new thermocouple input units, the FP0 can easily and accurately control temperature while controlling I/O. The PID values can be easy calculated with the built-in auto tuning feature. Up to 16 Auto Tuning loops can run simultaneously. The I-PD algorithm is also available to offer smoother control for sensitive applications.
FP Impulse Controller
Panasonic Electric Works Corporation once again expands its line of PLCs with the introduction of the first contact Impulse Heat Controller PLC. The Impulse Heat Controller is ideal for small machines where space is a premium, yet, it is required to perform difficult tasks. The controller performs the task of precisely controlling the heating and cooling process to ensure a perfect seal. This compact controller has programming memory of 2.7K steps. Its temperature input range is between 22 and 1076 degree F with a 0.1 degree F resolution. The response of this controller is 18ms temperature update time.
The controller has an outstanding PID algorithm for tight, accurate and repeatable seal quality compared to other controllers. This controller has a built-in Auto-Tune feature for quicker set up time. It features total machine control with built-in 8 digital inputs, 5 NPN transistor outputs, 1 relay output, and 2 Com ports for additional communication with other devices, such as barode readers, PC, HMI, etc. Programming can be done in plain Ladder Logic or using IEC 61131 software.

The PAX offers up to four setpoint alarms (option card required) and may be configured to suit a variety of control and alarm requirements.
