Process Controls Customer Service Representatives
This is an immediate opening for an experienced PROCESS CONTROLS CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE for a
small, professional, fast-paced, and aggressive global distributor of high- and low-tech industrial products working with an
extensive factory automation and process-control product line comprised of 30+ domestic and international vendors / factories.
(Please note that this is NOT a programmer or information-technology [IT] position.)
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Electrical product knowledge and the ability to launch quickly into industrial process controls technical support and
appropriately specify Sensors, controllers, and other
electrical equipment using already-established expertise and a thorough understanding of electronics,
PLCs instrumentation, power supplies, and other electrical
equipment.
- A minimum of 5 years of business experience in the industrial sector
- At least 3 years of process controls / technical customer service support and/or industrial applications engineering
- Previous experience dealing directly with customers in the technical / industrial arena and providing support to industrial
sales representatives is required.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE or BSET) or an Associate's degree in Electrical or Specialized
Technology or direct equivalent in process controls / technical customer service / industrial applications
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, strong negotiation skills, be extremely detail oriented,
and be able to accurately assess and propose complex applications solutions for a heavy volume of existing and prospective
customers and opportunities for a broad range of industries including food processing, semiconductor, timber, mining, and
machine manufacturing
- Candidate must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines. Must also be
fully conversant with all standard office hardware and software, including Microsoft Office, and have the ability to learn and
effectively utilize additional software programs.
- Experience with/exposure to CYMA, MAS 90, or other accounting software and inventory-tracking systems is a plus.
- The ability to work proactively in a high-energy environment and relate with industrial, often international customers and
factories directly is critical.
This firm is an independent distributor known for providing a high level of industrial customer-service support
and applications assessment frequently for customized applications and the Process Controls Customer Service Representative is a
critical member of the team. The customer base is primarily local and regional with some national and international applications.
This is a nonsmoking environment.
Requirements
The Process Controls Customer Service Representative will be responsible for inside sales while also providing
sales and industrial / technical troubleshooting support to outside sales representative(s) and existing customer base. Duties to
include pricing, quotations, applications assessment / engineering, writing sales and purchase orders, handling inquiries, and
occasional expediting.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of 5 years of industrial / process controls experience with 3+ years
specifically in process controls / technical customer service / industrial applications engineering AND a Bachelor's or Associate's
degree in Electrical Engineering or direct equivalent.
Hours: Full Time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday
Salary: Starting salary $35,000/year or DOE. Benefits include 401(k), paid vacation after 1 year, and
company-paid health insurance. No relocation provided.
