Saginaw Control & Engineering's Type 4X Fiberglass Enclosures are designed for indoor or outdoor use to house electronic controls, instruments and components in areas that may be regularly hosed down, in very wet conditions, or are exposed to corrosive agents. These enclosures provide protection from corrosion, wind blown dust, rain, spraying water, hose directed water and ice formation on the enclosure.

• Polyester fiberglass sheets are reinforced with short strands of fiberglass in random order in the polyester resin.
• Memory retaining silicon gasket.
• Quick release padlock latches made of stainless steel.

• The VJ series is designed in accordance with the Joint Industrial Council (JIC).
• The VJ range consists of seven box sizes in several versions:
  • with screw cover
  • with stainless steel piano hinge
  • with non-metallic hinges
  • with standard or padlockable latch
• The bases and covers are made of gray (RAL 7036), hot molded, fiberglass reinforced polyester, dyed in mass. They come complete with UL/CSA-label and 4 threaded inserts for a mounting plate.
• Continuous gaskets made of polyurethane foam guarantee optimal integrity.
• All mounting hardware is made of stainless steel.
• The enclosure can be readily worked with conventional tools, such as drills, mills, saws, punches, etc.
• VJ enclosures are maintenance free and corrosion resistant.

Application

• Designed for use as instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneu­matic control housings, electrical junction boxes or terminal wiring enclosures.
• Provides outstanding insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet.
• Ideal in applications with high temperatures or highly corrosive environments.

Fiberglass NEMA Box

• No Latch Version: Hinged cover, no latch. Cover secured with two stainless steel screws.
• Latch Version: Hinged cover with quick-release, padlockable stainless steel latch. UL listing is pending for latch version.
• Durable and easy to machine fiberglass reinforced plastic (SMC)
• Provides outstanding protection against corrosion
• Chemical resistant and impervious to dents
• Designed to meet NEMA 1, 2, 4, 4X, 12, 13, and IP66
• Stainless steel hinge, screws, and wall mounting brackets
• UL listed and tested to UL508-4X requirements (UL listing pending for Latch version)

• Includes removable 14 ga. white powder coated steel inner panel
