The Hitachi J300 auto tuning sensorless flux vector inverter has features never before achieved in a drive of its type. The Hitachi J300 enables performance approaching that of a servo system, at low cost, with easy installation and setting, yet with features which benefit the broadest cross section of industries. The drive can be fitted to almost any AC motor and appeals equally to OEMs and end users.

The J300 takes this technology on a generation with the application of fuzzy logic and the incorporation of advanced features such as automatic tuning. Indeed, both the range of features and mechanical construction of the J300 is indicative of Hitachi's total design approach. Hitachi's sensorless flux vector inverters give approaching AC servo performance from a drive that is as easy to install as any open loop system.

IPU-PSM Option Board for "Pump Sleep Mode" is designed for use with the reliable L300P Series inverter platform, the IPU-PSM incorporates features vital to many pumping applications. Depending on system demand, standard PID control may allow a pump to run at low speeds for prolonged periods of time. This can cause mechanical issues with certain pump types. It also wastes energy, since most pumps do not generate significant flow or head at low speeds. The IPU-PSM allows the user to specify a lower limit on inverter output frequency, or pump speed. If the PID function calls for a pump speed below that limit for a user-defined period of time, the inverter will go to "sleep", meaning the inverter output will shut off and the pump stops. The IPU-PSM monitors the system pressure feedback. If system pressure drops below a defined level for a specified period of time, the inverter will "wake" and resume normal PID pressure regulation. In addition, two digital inputs are available on the IPU-PSM: to force the inverter to wake, and to disable the sleep function.
