Single-Turn Absolute Encoders repeat the code for every shaft revolution. Multi-turn absolute encoders increase the code at each shaft revolution. Shaft position is retained when the absolute encoder is switched-off, so it can provide the absolute position, as well as rotation speed or direction. Absolute encoders have a different bit mask for each angular position, resolution is defined as Code Per Revolution (CPR) and also expressed in bits.

Accu-Coder Encoders

Encoder Products Company (EPC) offers two types of measuring wheels in both english and metric circumferences. The first type, Faced Measuring Wheels, has a wide contact surface with a variety of faced coatings, one of which will be suitable for nearly every specialized application. The second, Rubber Insert Measuring Wheels, uses a replaceable rubber insert, or "spare tire", that is easier to set up and maintain, and fits most general-purpose requirements.

The incremental miniature encoders type 2400 / 2420 with their optical sensor technology offer a resolution of up to 1024 PPR. With a diameter of just 24 mm this encoder is ideal for use where space is tight.

Thanks to their non-contact magnetic scanning technology the miniature-format encoders 2430 and 2440 guarantee exceptional ruggedness - and this with a resolution of up to 256 pulses per revolution. As a result of their compact outer diameter of only 24 mm, they are ideal for use where installation space is restricted.

The incremental encoders type Sendix Base KIS40 / KIH40 with optical sensor technology have been designed for highest costeffectiveness. They are particularly suitable for tight mounting spaces and small machines and appliances.

The compact incremental encoders type 3610 / 3620 with optical sensor technology are available with a resolution of up to 2500 ppr. The versions with hollow shaft are designed for diameters up to 8 mm.

The incremental economy encoders type 3700/3720 with optical sensor technology are a particularly compact and economical solution. The carbon-fibre reinforced plastic housing of these incremental encoders is, nevertheless, extremely robust and resistant.

The Sendix 5000 and 5020 offer high resistance against vibration and installation errors. The encoders 5814FS2 and 5834FS2 of the Sendix SIL family are suited for use in safety-related applications up to SIL2 according to EN 61800-5-2 or PLd to EN ISO 13849-1.

The encoders of the high temperature series 5803 / 5823 can be used at up to max. 110°C. The high heat resistance - at the same time as high speed - make these encoders the ideal solution for all applications in a high temperature environment.

The encoders type 5804 / 5824 offer a SinCos interface. The encoders type 5805 / 5825 offer resolutions up to max. 36000 PPR. Thanks to their stainless-steel housing, the hollow shaft encoders type 5826 are particularly suitable for those applications that make high demands on the composition and properties of the materials used.
