Gasketed ABB Capacitors housing and conduit boxes on Leeson Electric
Motors provide protection in all environments. Leeson Motor double shielded ball bearings prelubricated with Exxon POLYREX EM
grease having operating temperature range of minus 20F to plus 350F and special formulation to provide extra bearing protection.
Leeson Electric Motor rubber boot over manual protector reset button provides weather protection. Leeson Motors low temperature
manual overload protector protects against extreme overload. Leeson Electric Motor Class "F" copper windings and varnish and
Leeson Electric Motor Capacitor start provides high starting torque with normal starting current for Leeson Motors.
The fan and blower duty Leeson motors are designed for dependable, energy saving performance in applications
where the fan is mounted on the shaft of the motor. The permanent split capacitor design does not require a centrifugal switch,
resulting in higher reliability than on other types of single phase Leeson Ag motors. This design is also more energy efficient
and less expensive to operate. These Leeson electric motors may be operated at listed speed or two speed operation may be achieved
by using the proper auxiliary switch. They are suitable for
Variable Speed Drives by adjusting the voltage to the Leeson
motor using a variable voltage control, except as noted by. Because of the inherently low starting torques of this design, these
Leeson electric motors are not suitable for belt driven fan applications. They must be mounted within the air stream of the driven
fan.
There are many ways to make and insulate the connections between motor leads and the stator winding or coils.
Leeson Motors has and will continue to look for and try improved methods. But for now, connections continue to be taped or sleeved
to pad and protect them, providing a high level of electrical and mechanical strength. Connections poking through insulation are a
common failure point for Yaskawa Drives inverter motors, but another one you don't have to
worry about with Leeson electric motors. Phase insulation can be the most difficult part of the entire stator winding process, and
of critical importance. But today, more Leeson motors are being used with controls. While some manufacturers were adding back
phase insulation into motors that didn't have it, Leeson Electric was busy looking for ways to make our phase insulation, which
was always in place, even better. Leeson uses a variety of quality insulation materials (polyester films and laminates such as DMD,
NMN) specifically tailored to the manufacturing process and insulation class.
