IDEC has made some big changes to their HG3G OI Touchscreens, their 8.4- and 10.4-inch TFT color displays, in response to customer demand! And to implement them, you don't even need to buy an additional hardware or software tool! That's right, just upgrade the touchscreen's firmware to A.O. software version 1.51 and just like that, new features and enhancements to all HG3G OITs in minutes! What are these great changes?

In addition to the remote access capability of IDEC OI Touchscreens and PLCs to upload, download and use Pass through programming via the Ethernet, you can now remotely monitor and control IDEC HG3G Touchscreens from your computer, PDA or Smartphone using a web browser. This will allow you to remotely see the same information shown on the touchscreen. You can monitor the same values and statuses, as well as control them by clicking the pushbuttons to change statuses/operations, print, switch screens or change values as if you were right in front of your touchscreen.

Most PLCs have dynamic values stored and backed up by a rechargeable lithium battery with a lifespan of roughly five years before it needs to be replaced, if it even can be. In some cases, the entire unit has to be replaced. Not to mention, in most instances, this battery can only back up data for a limited time when the PLC is not powered, otherwise all data will be reset. Now, thanks to the MRAM memory designed into our new FC5A controllers, these limitations are a thing of the past! Values can be stored permanently to eliminate the hassle and worry of losing dynamic and preloaded data. This makes them ideal for applications that need to retain critical data permanently.
With an embedded 10/100Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port and remote connectivity, communication can also be done at a faster speed. These controllers support Modbus TCP, while maintaining the ability to send up to 255 email messages with dynamic data and having an easy-to-configure user web page. They can also be configured to communicate with WindLDR software, IE/Firefox/Safari web browsers, WindSRV OPC software, HG operator interface, and Modbus TCP, all at the same time. Up to 14 simultaneous connections can be established.
The new embedded Ethernet MicroSmart Pentra with MRAM is available in two CPU models with 12 I/O configurations (8 DC inputs and 4 transistor sink or source outputs) and is compatible with current WindLDR software. All existing FC4A and FC5A expansion modules and accessories are compatible.
Now available in 12V DC, 24V AC/DC or 120V AC, AP22M pilot lights use high-intensity LEDs to provide ultra-bright visibility even in direct sunlight! A unique optical design makes them twice as bright as standard pilot lights when viewed from the front and up to 100 times brighter than standard pilot lights when viewed from the side. AP22M pilot lights are designed for applications that require accurate recognition, regardless of external conditions.

AP22M pilot lights have a unibody design and integrated terminal cover with IP20 finger-safe screw terminal connections. A 22.3mm mounting hole is compliant with IEC 60947-5-1.
Our basic 5.7-inch HG2G-5ST and HG2G-SB Series displays have been superseded by a new generation of more flexible, capable displays with enhanced features. As a result, the HG2G-5ST and HG2G-SB Series are discontinued effective immediately. IDEC will accept orders until July 31, 2016. After that, remaining stock will be limited to first-come, first-serve basis until depleted.
The NEW HG2G-5T HMI is a significant upgrade from previous 5.7-inch models. Enhanced features include:
- Enhanced Communication functionality that can communicate with a variety of different PLCs and controllers. Support for up to four communication protocols simultaneously.
- An Ethernet port to connect remotely with your touchscreen over the Internet. Monitor, test or control from anywhere via web browser.
- Excellent environmental tolerance with a wide range of operating temperatures from -20 degrees C up to +60 degrees C.
If necessary, you can still order HG2G-5ST and HG2G-SB Series displays until July 30, 2016, but you should recommend customers choose the newer HG2G-5T Series. IDEC will, of course, continue to support the previous line until October 2023.
Effective immediately, RH2L latching relays will be discontinued. Possible alternatives include RR2KP latching relays or SmartRelays.
RR2KP magnetic latching relays have excellent self-holding performance and operate by pulse input, so they maintain conditions even during power failures. They are available in AC and DC coil voltages up to 10A. DIN rail and panel mount sockets are available for a wide range of mounting applications.
For those customers who manage a relay/timer logic circuit and are looking to upgrade their control system, IDEC SmartRelay might be the answer. IDEC SmartRelay is a compact, expandable CPU that can replace multiple timers, relays and counters. Each CPU houses a real-time clock and calendar, and supports optional expansion I/O modules to enhance control and monitoring applications. Customers can program and edit using either the "smart" on-board selection buttons and display interface, or our even "smarter" software, WindLGC. The IDEC SmartRelay is the ideal solution for managing automatic lighting, access control, watering systems, pump control, or ventilation systems in factory or home automation.
Effective immediately, ISF sensors will be discontinued and replaced by SA1U sensors. Orders will be honored until supply of product is exhausted. We encourage you to review your customers' needs and prepare for this transition, as remaining stocks for ISF are limited.
Heavy-duty photoelectric SA1U sensors are offered in four sensing modes: through-beam, background suppression, diffuse and polarized retro-reflective. Long distance sensing ranges as far as 50 meters with through-beam models.
SA1U sensors utilize a spring up screw terminal making wiring simple. You can use almost any conductor without the need for special cables. Assembled in a fully-automated process, these sensors are UL/c-UL listed, CE marked and IP67 rated, making them ideal for use in wet environments, as well as in direct sunlight.
IDEC officially announces the discontinuation of the IDEC SmartRelay FL1D CPU modules effective immediately.
All distributors are strongly recommended to review existing FL1D accounts and order units as deemed necessary. Orders will continue to be accepted as long as we have remaining inventory. Please note, discontinuation affects only CPU modules.
No expansion modules have been discontinued. As a replacement, please recommend the FL1E series to your customers. All existing FL1D programs can be downloaded to FL1E with no modifications necessary! You only need to select new CPU in the software.
