The MOVIMOT, SEW-Eurodrive's smart gearmotor, offers cost-effective integrated control for gearmotors from 0.5 to 5 hp. This compact drive, mounted directly on the motor, saves enclosure space which saves you money. Since it mounts to standard SEW motors, it can easily be retrofitted in the field. And its aluminum housing makes it rugged for environmentally tough applications.

A typical keyed hollow shaft is made from carbon steel and is likely to corrode to a customer's solid shaft. In time, an attempt to separate the two shafts may prove to be impossible. In contrast, SEW Eurodrive's TorqLOC requires no key and should remain corrosion free, even after years of service. It contacts the customer's solid shaft in only two places - at the support bushing and at the torque bushing.

The support bushing is bronze and will not corrode to steel due to the nature of dissimilar metals. The torque bushing is either electro less nickel-plated 1045 carbon steel or stainless steel - neither of which corrode to carbon steel. Furthermore, the high clamping forces located at the torque bushing prohibit the presence of oxygen so oxidation (rust) cannot occur.

The low backlash PSF/PSKF planetary servo gear units from SEW-EURODRIVE in single-stage and two-stage versions are, thanks to their structural design, very compact and allow for high torque and overhung loads. They are available in eight sizes with high torsional rigidity and cover a torque range of 25 to 3000 Nm (220 to 26550 in-lb). They can be accelerated with torques of up to 4200 Nm (37170 in-lb).

The high demands on machine cycle times, accelerations and linear travel speeds for drive systems in handling, transportation and production are increasing steadily. Whether for highly dynamic or flexible processing machines, material handling or pick-and-place applications, the new SL2 synchronous linear motors from SEW-EURODRIVE are the ideal solution to meet these demands.

SEW Eurodrive HW30/HS40 Series Light-Load overhead trolley drives are quiet and comply with C1 guideline standards (VDI guideline 3643). They work with a reliable disengageable coupling and provide the following advantages:

Directive 94/9/EC or ATEX lays down new regulations for explosion protection in all types of devices for the European market. This directive applies to gearmotors and motors. As of July 1, 2003, Directive 94/9/EC applies without restrictions to the use of gearmotors and motors within the European Union. Other European countries, such as Switzerland, have since come into line with this regulation.

In many industries, such as the automotive, food and beverage industries, airport logistics or general transport logistics, the demands on materials handling systems are becoming both more complex and more specific. At the same time, less installation space is available for meeting these demands. As a result, SEW-EURODRIVE decided to research and develop an optimum application solution to suit these criteria. The result is the mechatronic drive system MOVIGEAR. It has an advantageous, compact design and is ideal for ensuring that conveyor systems are structured as efficiently as possible.

With its new MOVIAXIS multi-axis servo inverters, SEW-EURODRIVE offers innovative, future oriented solutions in the field of highly dynamic servo drive technology. These units handle dynamic and accurate application and automation tasks with optimized expenditure of time, costs and resources. Depending on the machine and system concept required, MOVIAXIS multi-axis servo drives can be combined flexibly and adapted to meet automation requirements.

The helical-bevel gear units from SEW EURODRIVE provide a high degree of efficiency of approx. 95 % in both directions of torque and at any input speed in the long-term. The gearing is designed for high endurance and thus makes for a high-torque, wear-free drive. The remarkably high efficiency of our helicalbevel gearmotors makes them energy-efficient angular drives. As they also have a long maintenance-free service life, they can be used with AC asynchronous motors, asynchronous and synchronous servomotors in every application.

The new MOVIFIT system combines the established advantages of SEW-EURODRIVE decentralized installation technology with modern, application-oriented drive and communication functions. For years now, the components from SEW-EURODRIVE's decentralized drive system have been proving how compact and modular a decentralized system structure can be in diverse applications. Nevertheless, drive engineering requirements are becoming increasingly demanding even in this field. The following are examples of some of the demands made on materials handling technology:

Robust and universal SEW Eurodrive gear unit X series which can be optimally adjusted to the task due to finely stepped torque ratings. The universal modular system concept sets new standards with respect to availability and offers a broad range of application options, e.g. for materials handling systems, ball mills, and agitators. Application gear units, such as for bucket elevators, complete the range.

Drive engineering from SEW-EURODRIVE meets the challenge of avoiding industrial accidents while maintaining trouble-free and economical system operation. Compliance with DIN EN 954-1 and EN 13849-1, intended to minimize the risk posed to people by technical equipment, allows for the installation of system control that monitor the production process instead of switching it off. The control systems applied must satisfy the relevant requirements regarding safety and performance level.
