MOVIDRIVE comes in four series:
- MDF for sensorless flux-vector control of induction motors. (speed range 200:1)
- MDV for closed-loop flux-vector control of induction motors. (speed range 5000:1)
- MDS for SEW permanent magnet A/C servo motors. (speed range >3000:1)
- MDR for regenerative loads.

SEW Eurodrive MOVIDRIVE represents a new level of inverter functionality and capability. Yet its design allows for
remarkably easy setup and commissioning, with a variety of intuitive tools.
Standard Features
- IPOSPLUS programming environment with up to 800 lines of logic/motion programming.
- Supports Absolute Encoders and
Incremental Encoders.
- Synchronous servo and asynchronous induction motors.
- Synchronizes motor-mounted encoders with machine-mounted encoders.
- Runs sophisticated applications such as the "Flying Shear".
- Comes standard with 6 digital inputs, 2 digital outputs and 1 relay output.
Control Features
- Induction motors: 2 new flux-vector control modes enable standard induction motors to rival AC servo motors in dynamic
performance, precision and torque control.
- Servo Motors: state-of-the-art dynamics, plus enhanced control.
- 2 expansion slots accommodate communication or drive control drive options.
Communication
- Comes standard with RS-485 and SEW's high-speed system bus (Sbus) allowing peer-to-peer networking for up to 31 MOVIDRIVEs.
- Common DC-bus capability.
- Select from DEVICENET, INTERBUS, PROFIBUS and CAN interface modules.

- RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces.
- Synchronization using modular expansion.

- Control keypads with a choice of nine languages including English, French and Spanish.
- Input/Output Expansion (Digital: 8 in/ 8 out Analog: 1 in/ 2 out); (Binary: 8 in/ 8 out) with absolute encoder connection (SSI).
- Din-rail mounted 24V: 5V supply converter for 5V supply encoders.
- Din-rail mounted RS-232 : RS-485 converter.
