SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN Servo Controllers |
SEW Eurodrive Servo controllers of the MOVIDYN unit series are microprocessor-controlled pulse inverters
that control speed and torque of permanent-field DFS/DFY synchronous motors. They can be powered with a supply voltage of 380 to
500 VAC with 50 / 60 Hz and deliver output currents of 5 to 60 AAC. In addition to the amplifier system with power supply modules
to which axis modules (maximum of 6) can be connected, a compact SEW Eurodrive servo controller that combines the functions of the
power supply and axis modules is available for smaller currents (5 to 15 A).

The startup is performed via SEW Eurodrive MD_SHELL software which uses a largely automatic startup procedure.
Using the optional SEW Eurodrive MD_SCOPE software, it is possible to record MOVIDYN operating data in real time as well as
display and analyze them just like using an oscilloscope. A broad range of additional options such as positioning controls,
fieldbus interfaces, and terminal extensions round off the SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN system. The compact servo controller combines the
functions of the power supply module and the axis module of the modular servo controller. The SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN servo
controllers meet the guidelines of the low voltage directive 73/23/EWG. MOVIDYN servo controllers are designed to be installed as
components in machines and systems. They meet the EMC product standard EN 61800-3, "Adjustable Speed Electrical Power Drive
Systems". All SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN servo controllers carry the UL listing for the 380 to 480 VAC voltage range. This is equal to
the listing according to cUL and CSA.
In general, the Diagnostics and Memory Module Type ABG11A is required only for startup and servicing. For this
reason, SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN servo controllers are implemented as basic units without ABG11A and can be expanded by the
diagnostics and memory module type ABG11A as an option. The ABG11A offers the three languages GERMAN / ENGLISH / FRENCH. The
ABG11A can be used only on the regeneration capable MPR power supply module and on the MKS servo controller. SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN
servo controllers can communicate with machine control or other field units via the most important standard fieldbus systems.
The braking resistors of the BW series are matched to the technical characteristics of the SEW Eurodrive
MOVIDYN servo controller. A perforated sheet cover that is open to the mounting surface serves as mechanical protection. The
resistor surface reaches high temperatures under load with Prated. The installation site must take this factor into account. For
this reason, braking resistors are usually mounted on the switch cabinet. The SEW Eurodrive MOVIDYN units meet the requirements
for maintaining the EMC directive 89/336/EWG if the instructions for EMC-compliant installation are observed.
