Scientific Technologies, Inc., STI Automation Products Group, introduces the LPU-2127 Loop Powered
Ultrasonic Level Sensor. The STI LPU-2127 Ultrasonic Level sensor uses ultrasonic technology to provide a non-contact method of
determining distance or level measurements. STI Ultrasonic Level Sensors are designed
for tank/bin continuous level measurement and environmental monitoring, the LPU-2127's versatility, low maintenance and non-contact
operation makes it ideal for a variety of applications and harsh environments. The LPU-2127 STI Ultrasonic Level Sensors are not
affected by the color/translucency, dielectric constant, specific gravity or viscosity of the target. |
These STI miniature liquid level switches have been designed for reliable operation in small
tanks and containers. Their rugged design and careful engineering make them the perfect solution for OEM and large volume
applications. The stem of these STI miniature liquid level switches contains a hermetically sealed reed switch. The float
contains a permanent magnet. As the float rises or falls with the level of the liquid, the reed switch is activated by the
magnet. On most models, the operation of the switch, normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC), is easily changed by
removing a retaining clip and inverting the float. STI offers a wide variety of ultrasonic sensors to meet your application needs.
Ultrasonic technology provides a non-contact measurement solution. Common application include monitoring & controlling tank
levels for both solids & liquids, obstacle detection & collision avoidance, roll diameter & loop control, and
presence-absence & proximity detection, just to name a few. STI sensors are available with detection ranges as short as 4 in.
and as long as 50+ ft. Output options include 4-20 mA & 0-5 V analog, relays, transistor trip points, and RS-485 serial
communications. |

STI introduces LF Series Miniature Liquid Level Sensors. These carefully engineered sensors provide reliable
operation in small tanks and containers, and within a wide range of liquids. They also feature a utility design for shock resistance
and long, trouble-free life. The LF series Miniature Liquid Level Sensor is a perfect level sensing/switching solution for OEM and
large volume applications. Industry examples include food and pharmaceutical, automatic vending machines, photocopiers, small
collection tanks, miniature pumping stations, pilot plants, electronic parts plating and similar small system applications. |
STI introduces their versatile US20 Self Contained Ultrasonic Sensors. These STI ultrasonic
sensors are reliable, user adjustable, require little or no maintenance, and are easy to install. They provide a sensing range from
1 ft. (0.3 m) to 20 ft. (6 m), work on solids or liquids, and provide digital, analog and trip point outputs. The FL Series STI
Sensors are custom stem float switches. The FLX range of product is built to a customer's specification, including length of stem,
material, housing, mounting and number and position of switching points. The SLS and MLS are are two other STI float switches for
specific applications. The ELS is an STI conductive probe system. It is a popular technique in water level applications such as
municipal water and steam generators. The NLS is a pneumatic sensor for liquid levels. Finally are the cable float switches which
are popular in water treatment, pump control and tank level monitoring. STI is the North American source for the very popular Kari
float switches. STI also offers alternate styles including the FCN, FTN and TLS. |

These Scientific Technologies ultrasonic sensors function extremely well in harsh environments. They can detect
presence, level, volume, proximity and distance measurements making them ideal for any number of sensing applications, including
industrial automation, collision avoidance, equipment positioning, tank measurement and control, and environmental monitoring. |
US20 ultrasonic sensors are serial interface programmable with free software for Windows, DOS or Palm operating systems. AutoSense
software and internal temperature compensation neutralize variables such as ambient temperature, tank irregularities and humidity
to provide accurate and reliable readings. The STI VB Series of products are all Vibration Level sensors. Vibration Sensors are an
excellent choice of point level detection, especially in applications that have low bulk densities. Another choice for Point Level
Detection in solids is the PWS Rotating Paddle Level Sensors. These low cost sensors are designed for use with plastic molding, or
injection machines and extruders. They are compact and designed to provide reliable service. The MWN is a microwave sensor which
is useful in extreme conditions of heat or pressure. Custom wave guide assemblies are available. The OPN provides dependable
detection of liquid / sludge blanket interfaces in applications such as wastewater and industrial plating. |

Scientific Technologies Inc. STI is the largest manufacturer of machine safeguarding equipment in North
America, and is well recognized by the industry. STI products are used to keep people safe while automated factories produce a
variety of complex and important products such as automobiles, computers, electronics, and food and beverages. STI safety products
include Safety Light Curtains, interlocks,
IDEC PCB Relays, mats and sensors. STI offers a wide range of Data Dolphin products for data
monitoring and telemetry. The general purpose data loggers are the DD-400, DD-200, DD-320, DD-124 and DD-128. STI offers a range
of flow sensors and transmitters for common flow detection applications in gas, liquids and bulk solids. Techniques employed are
acoustic for bulk solids and powders in pipes, low cost Paddle for liquids, open channel ultrasonic for liquids, capacitance ring
sensors for pump protection, microwave for bulk solids, and thermal dispersion for liquids and gases.
To select the appropriate STI Relay, STI Controller or STI man-machine interface device, several questions must
be asked and answered. Both the requirements of the application, as well as the limitations of the STI Sensor must be considered
to make the correct decision. Review the electrical requirements of the STI Sensor and determine its voltage and current
requirements and its output signal. STI offers an extremely broad range of
Photoelectric Sensors that have significant advantages over competitive
designs. Separate amplifier types provide the flexibility of a myriad of control logic and output signal options. Self-contained
types are ideal for applications where simple, low-cost sensing is needed. Photoelectric sensors enjoy the widest range of
markets, including aerospace, health care, fabricated metal industries, packaging, warehousing, paper, transportation, and many
more. STI Sensor markets over 5 families of sensors as well as additional amplifiers/power supplies, fiberoptic probes, and
reflectors.
