The unique microcontroller-based voltage and voltage-sensing circuit of SymCom single phase voltage monitors constantly monitors the voltage to detect harmful power line conditions. When a harmful condition is detected, the MotorSaver's output relays are deactivated after a specified trip delay.

The output relays reactivate after power line conditions return to an acceptable level and a specified amount of time has elapsed (restart delay). The trip delay prevents nuisance tripping due to rapidly fluctuating power line conditions.

Fortunately, SymCom intrinsically safe relays and controllers are specifically designed to interface controls between hazardous and non-hazardous areas. Pump controllers are innovative products for controlling a single pump or multiple pumps. Some models can be used to detect pump seal leaks and motor overheating on submersible pumps. Other models can be used as a five-channel pump controller or five-channel switch to support all popular industry standard multi-pump configurations.

In submersible pump applications, early indication of seal failure is critical to allow maintenance of the pump before additional damage occurs. SymCom seal leak and leak/temp relays provide protection against seal leaks and over temperature by monitoring sensors within the pumps and providing early warning or disabling the pumps.

Pumps are often exposed to hazardous conditions and situations that can cause severe damage to the pump. The Model RS485MS-2W Communications Module serves two very important functions. From a communication network view, its primary purpose is to electrically isolate the communications network from the high voltages present in SymCom's units and to convert the communications signals from the microprocessor's 5-volt levels into RS-485 levels. The second function of the RS485MS-2W is to provide power to the RM-1000 remote monitor.

The RS485MS-2W has two high speed optical isolation chips on the receive and transmit pins and a low speed optoisolator on the transmit/receive pin to isolate the communication network from the AC line voltages.

SymCom T-10 on-delay timer is a solid-state electronic device that provides accurate and reliable timing for control circuits up to 600 VAC. The T-10 features a user selectable time delay from 6 seconds to 10 minutes, and SPDT output contacts. When power is applied to the T-10, it immediately begins its timing cycle. During this time, the indicator LED alternates between red and green, and the output contacts remain inactive. When the timing cycle is complete, the indicator LED turns solid green, and the output contacts are activated. The output contacts will remain activated until power is removed from the T-10.
