TURCK AS-I masters and gateways are available in several different designs. The latest gateway versions incorporate stainless steel housing, support DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus-TCP, PROFIBUS-DP, CANopen and Modbus as higher-level networks, and are available with one or two AS-I masters. TURCK introduces a family of IP20 rated, in-the-cabinet, block I/O stations for AS-interface (AS-i) networks. The FAS20 stations' small size and DIN-rail mounting option makes it suitable for upgrading existing panels in batch processing, pharmaceutical and material handling applications.

The FAS20 stations are available with either four inputs or with four inputs and four outputs. All I/O ports are terminal blocks and are available in removable and non-removable versions. The AS-i bus and AUX power connections may be made via terminal blocks or an optional integrated M12 eurofast bulkhead receptacle for connection outside of an enclosure. The full AS-i version 3.0 is available with these stations, allowing the AS-i network to double the maximum number of slaves under one master from 31 to 62.

TURCK introduces a new AS-interface (AS-i) speed monitor that monitors safety speed and stop conditions on up to two axes. The speed monitor, manufactured by Bihl+Wiedemann, is part of the large range of AS-i safety products distributed by TURCK in the United States.

The speed monitor may be quickly programmed using a configuration push-button or by using AS-i control tools. When the speed falls below the designated threshold, the device sends a signal to AS-i. An integrated chip card records the programmed parameters so the device does not require reprogramming when accessing the machine after a controlled stop.

TURCK announces new Gen. 2 AS-interface (AS-i) safety gateways manufactured by Bihl+Wiedemann and distributed by TURCK in the United States. The new gateways integrate AS-i safety monitors and slaves, allowing two safety at work networks and up to 16 release circuits to be monitored through a single gateway. Now, two independent AS-i networks can be powered by a single power supply, providing diagnostic data to the higher level controller and eliminating the cost associated with additional power supplies and gateways.

Bihl+Wiedemann AS-i masters monitor duplicate address detection, ground faults, EMC levels, error counter, emergency stop, safety light barriers - and more. The safety products are available with relay or electronic outputs with expanded programming that allows up to 256 functions without increasing the response time. Up to 31 Safety at Work networks can be easily linked and started together.
