TURCK introduces the BIM-UNT, a universal magnetic field sensor that detects the position of a piston
on standard pneumatic cylinders. The BIM-UNT is highly immune to EMC, polarity protected, has reliable switching points and a
fast response time. This and other design features make the BIM-UNT a desirable alternative for traditional cylinder position
sensors.
The BIM-UNT uses magneto-resistive, board level technology that provides improved performance and housing.
The sensing face has also been placed in the front of the sensor to aid in detecting short stroke cylinders. BIM-UNT sensors
include a broad range of accessories, from precision mounting to wire-strain relief products, to help install the sensors in
all T-groove, dovetail and tie rod pneumatic cylinders.

TURCK's line of magnetic cylinder position sensors has been expanded to include the BIM-UNR, a miniature
sensor designed to mount within C-groove cylinders with no accessories required. Its dimensions of 2.9 x 4.6 x 18 mm make the
BIM-UNR one of the most compact sensors on the market. The sensor can be inserted into a C-groove from the top rather than
from the side, simplifying installation. On the sensor's side is a built-in tab that keeps the sensor in place to facilitate
one-handed mounting. The BIM-UNR sensor also incorporates a 1.5 mm hexagon mounting screw that requires only a quarter-turn
to securely mount the sensor. As this mounting screw is located near the cable exit, the sensor remains fastened even if the
cable is pulled.
Since the BIM-UNR sensor is designed to fit inside the C-groove, it is protected from mechanical damage.
In addition, the sensor's active sensing element is located at the bottom of the groove as close to the magnet as possible
providing reliable detection, especially on shortstroke cylinders. BIM-UNR sensors are also highly immune to EMC interference
in accordance with EN 60947-5-2.

TURCK's BIM-UNT line of compact cylinder position sensors has been expanded to include a new dual sensor
for detecting long and short stroke cylinders. This unique device combines the benefits of two sensors through a single cable
connection, lessening wire costs and connection points. The dual sensor is highly sensitive and accurate and is especially
useful for detecting the home and end position of a piston for longer stroke cycles.
The sensor's low profile is suitable for applications where there is minimal clearance around cylinders,
and it can be used in places where multiple cylinders are installed, as it only requires one cable. The BIM-UNT is one of the
most compact sensors currently available on the market, and may be mounted in T-groove cylinders without requiring additional
tools or accessories. Having its active sensing area directly at the end of the sensor's housing provides an accurate piston
detection right up to the end positions-even on short stroke cylinders.

TURCK has expanded its line of BIM-UNT cylinder position sensors with a new 2-wire DC version, along with
a NAMUR option for Intrinsically Safe Applications. The cylinder
position sensor's wear-free design and short circuit protection make them a viable alternative to electromagnetic switches in
the automotive industry. To further their applicability in this industry, TURCK has integrated a weld resistant TPU cable.
With a total length of only 28 mm, the BIM-UNT is one of the most compact cylinder position sensors on the
market. The active sensing faces are located directly at the end of the sensor to safely detect the piston rod's end position
on compact, short-stroke cylinders.

TURCK has added a new compact WIM45 magnetic field sensor to its line of cylinder position sensors. The
WIM45 provides a direct analog output for determining the position of a piston magnet on all types of pneumatic cylinders,
and are more accurate than indirect analog monitoring with potentiometers or linear position systems.
A WIM45 detects the position of a piston on standard pneumatic cylinders by utilizing a series of Hall
elements that sense the piston magnet and send a signal back to the processor. The sensor's analog output slope can be
reversed by rotating the sensor by 180 degrees. This feature eliminates the need for two separate sensors and helps
streamline the production process. Furthermore, its immunity to EMC exceeds IEC EN 60947-5-2 and EN 61000-4-6 standards.
