This 4 channel intrinsically safe interface device is designed to accommodate Four Switches Or NAMUR Proximity Sensor inputs or any combination of the two from a hazardous area and repeat the change of state of the field circuits to a control system located in a non-hazardous area. The non-hazardous area outputs are four separate SPST switches reflecting the corresponding change of state from each individual input of the field circuit, to its appropriate corresponding output. A common alarm switch for all four channels is also incorporated.

The MS1-12Ex0-R is a single-channel switching amplifier with intrinsically safe input circuits. The output circuit consists of one DPDT relay. The output function is jumper programmable on terminals 11/12 for direct mode (N.O.) or inverse mode (N.C.). This unit does not have input circuit monitoring. It is an inexpensive alternative in systems that use NAMUR sensors or mechanical contacts as input devices.

The MK13-UNF-Ex0/24VDC and MK13-UPF-Ex0/24VDC are single channel switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits. They are used to isolate and transfer discrete signals from a hazardous location to a non-hazardous location. Inputs are typically NAMUR sensors or dry contacts, although devices providing a variable resistance conforming to DIN 19234 may be used - e.g. variable resistors, thermistors, etc.

Each provide two short-circuit protected transistor outputs. A three-position switch on the front cover selects the output mode. Positions "A", "R" and "V" represent direct mode (N.O.), inverse mode (N.C.) and complementary mode, respectively. The output mode is dependent on the input device.
