Standard features of TURCK connectors are coupling nuts constructed of nickel plated brass, stainless steel or nylon. Mating pins and sockets are gold plated brass. Injection molded connector bodies are made of polyurethane (PUR) and injection molded to the cable jacket to provide strain relief and seal connections from hazardous environments. In terms of performance, the pin and sleeve ratings for the minifast, eurofast and picofast are 9, 4 and 1.5 Amps respectively.

TURCK shielded cordsets with the shield tied to the coupling nut offer complete shielding for the entire length of the cordset. A metal sleeve inside the molded body connects the braid/foil shield of the cable to the metal coupling nut with no loss of shielding potential. TURCK armored cordsets are the ultimate in shielded connectors. A TURCK patented process allows the interlocked aluminum armor to be connected directly to the coupling nut offering the same protection as running conductors inside metal conduit.

TURCK receptacles, drop cords, junction boxes, home-run cables and accessories comprise a process wiring system designed for the demanding conditions of process applications. Quick-disconnect design eliminates mis-wiring and speeds installation. Choice of stainless steel or nickel-plated brass hardware. Instrument receptacles, drop cords, junction boxes and home-run cables reduce multiple cable runs.

TURCK Junctions are passive hubs. Some have short-circuit protection and voltage monitoring. Short-circuit protects the power on the trunk and allows use in Class 1, Div 2 locations. Junctions are made from two different materials; die-cast aluminum with a powder coated enamel finish or polyurethane PVC overmold. Both housings are available with either Nickel Plated brass or 316 stainless steel connectors. Junctions are rated NEMA 1, 3, 4, 4X, 12, 13 and IEC IP 67. These ratings are conditional, requiring a cordset or cap to be installed on all ports. Although the aluminum housing is rated 4X (salt-water spray test) TURCK highly recommends the polyurethane or fiberglass housing for aggressive environments.

Typically, a plant's efficiency is highly dependent on the maximum possible speed of the transport equipment. While many conventional RFID systems allow only static read and write operations, the new BL ident system from TURCK is capable of reading and writing at all times. Data can be exchanged even when the data carrier is in motion. With a read-write time of 0.5 ms per byte, BL ident is one of the fastest inductive RFID systems on the market. Even transport speeds of over 10 ms are achievable.

TURCK has expanded its BL ident RFID product portfolio with the release of a Simple RFID (RFID-S) slice for its BL20 modular I/O system. Each RFID-S slice contains two channels of RFID. Additional RFID slices, as well as traditional discrete and analog I/O slices, may be added to the system, making it the only product on the market that allows this combination on the same node on the network.

This flexible design facilitates the integration of RFID into both new and existing systems. The RFID-S slice does not require special software for integration into a PLC system, further simplifying the entire process of adding RFID to a system. The RFID-S slice is compatible with TURCK's IP 20 rated BL20 non-programmable and programmable gateways for use on PROFIBUS-DP, PROFINET, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP networks.

The limit value monitors IM43-13-SR and IM43-14-SRi are single-channel devices and alternately monitor measuring current of 0/4-20 mA or measuring voltages of 0/2-10 V. The three limit values are set via the front panel teach button. In addition, a voltage of approx. 18 V (at 35 mA max.) is provided, which can be used to power transmitters or sensors. The output mode is jumper programmable at terminals 5-8.

The MK73-R/T/Z22 couplers are used to isolate and condition discrete signals in applications that require high component density. Vertical isolation results in a width of 9 mm per channel. Field circuits are wired to the bottom terminals (1/3 and 2/4). Control circuits are wired to the top terminals (5/7 and 6/8). This configuration simplifies wiring by keeping control and field circuits separate. The couplers are available with relay, transistor or Triac outputs for a wide variety of applications. Transistor outputs are short-circuit and reverse-polarity protected. These devices were designed with minimal options to provide high operational integrity at low cost, making them an ideal interface at the best price/function ratio. A comprehensive range of options is also available for special applications.

TURCK introduces the Q25L sensor, a magnetically actuated linear displacement sensor available with measuring ranges of 100, 125, 160 and 200 mm. The Q25L sensor is well-suited for applications that require precise signal transmission over long measuring distances, such as pneumatic pumps, slides, blanking or molding systems. By utilizing an external magnet as a position indicator, the sensor may be used in even more applications, such as moving platforms, point line measurement or other specially designed equipment where a cylinder is not present.

Like TURCK's other cylinder position sensors, the Q25L detects the position of a piston on standard pneumatic cylinders by utilizing a series of Hall elements that sense the piston magnet and send a signal back to the processor. The Q25L line has a repeat accuracy of less than 0.1 percent of the measuring range and a linear deviation of less than 1 percent of the full scale. It also features a blind zone of only 20.5 mm on each end, making it easy-to-apply in space restricted areas.

To simplify device setup and installation time, TURCK's interface module (IM) family may now be programmed via a PC or integrated push buttons using FDT/DTM software, along with PACTware. This software allows multiple parameters to be set and saved in a matter of seconds. The ease of use and structure of this system allows asset management ability with trending and data logging of values.

TURCK's IM models may be used to monitor the speed of motors, shafts and conveyors, the temperature of RTD's and thermocouples, and to control or monitor analog signals for linear movement, temperature, pressure, level control or any other device using 4 to 20 mA signals. Intrinsically safe models to control devices in hazardous areas are also available. All models are equipped with a two-line transflective LCD display, making it easy to read even in very bright light. The modules also incorporate a universal supply voltage and removable terminals, making them easy to install in new or existing systems.
