Weidmuller

When used for industrial monitoring applications, sensors can record ambience conditions. Sensor signals are used within the process to continually track changes to the area being monitored. Both digital and analogue signals can occur. Normally an electrical voltage or current value is produced which corresponds proportionally to the physical variables that are being monitored.

Weidmuller ACT20X NAMUR Isolating Switching Amplifiers: With Relay Output Distributors

Intrinsically Safe

ACT20X is a product family of signal converters for the Ex zone. With 11 mm width per channel, these compact devices need little space in the cabinet. The signal converters have been specifically developed for process automation applications in hazardous (Ex) and non-hazardous zones.

The ACT20X series processes all standard input signals (2-wire HART, NAMUR, RTD, thermocouples, DC signals) from the Ex zone 0 or provides digital and analogue signals, to drive field devices in explosion risk zones.

Fault and error messages can be forwarded via the integrated relay outputs. This helps identify errors quickly and increases system availability.

Using the WI-Manager the configuration software based on FDT (Field Device Tool) technology, the ACT20X devices can be configured individually on the PC for different process applications. Weidmuller supplies specific Device Type Managers (DTM), which can be run in any FDT-based frame. International approvals such as IECEx, ATEX, FM and UL permit their use worldwide.

Weidmuller Output Current Loop-Fed Passive Disconnector Distributor

Measuring Transducer/Isolation Amplifier

Signal converters and isolating amplifiers are universally suitable for detecting electrical and physical values, separating them galvanically and converting them into standardised DC current/voltage signals.

Their electrical and mechanical design is such that they require a minimum of installation space and wiring effort. Housing designs and wire-connection methods matched to the respective application enable universal use in process and industrial automation applications.

The product line includes Signal/measurement converters and isolating amplifiers for analogue DC signals, Temperature converters for resistance thermocouplers and thermocouples, Frequency converters, Potentiometer-measuring-transducers, Bridge measuring transducers (strain gauges), Measuring transducers for AC/DC currents   Measuring transducers for AC voltages functions.

The products mentioned are available as pure signal converters, 2-way/3-way isolators, or as passive isolators.

Temperature Measuring Transducer

When used for industrial monitoring applications, sensors can record ambience conditions. Sensor signals are used within the process to continually track changes to the area being monitored. Both digital and analogue signals can occur. Normally an electrical voltage or current value is produced which corresponds proportionally to the physical variables that are being monitored.

Analogue signal processing is required when automation processes have to constantly maintain or reach defined conditions. This is particularly significant for process automation applications. Standardised electrical signals are typically used for process engineering. Analogue standardised currents / voltage 0(4)-20 mA/ 0-10 V have established themselves as physical measurement and control variables.

Weidmuller meets the ever increasing challenges of automation and offers a product portfolio tailored to the requirements of handling sensor signals in analogue signal processing. The analogue signal processing products can be used universally in combination with other Weidmuller products and in combination among each other. Their electrical and mechanical design is such that they require only minimal wiring efforts.

Weidmuller ACT20C Network-Compatible Signal Conditioners Distributors

Network-Compatible Converters

With the ACT20C, Weidmuller is presenting a completely new type of signal converter. The compact module is equipped with an Ethernet connection and provides, in addition to signals, precise information on the status of sensors, signal processing and cabling.

ACT20C, as a signal converter, isolates, scales and converts analogue current and voltage signals; it can be configured directly with the "WI-Manager" software or via an Ethernet network. The software is based on the supplier-independent FDT/DTM technology.

The ACT20C has been designed specifically for process automation in order to continuously forward measured values and status information to networked devices.

During standard operation, malfunction, maintenance or configuration via the network, this allows a precise display of the current status.

In case of error, the ACT20C supplies precise information for error analysis and can therefore contribute to higher system availability.

Weidmuller Limit Value Monitoring Module Relay Transistor Outputs Distributor

Monitoring Modules

Monitoring physical variables such as fill level, temperature, rotational speed, weight, frequency, current and voltage allows continual control and monitoring of process sequences, devices or parts of an installation.

For this purpose, special limit-monitoring components are used.

The sensor signal is detected on the input side, electronically evaluated, converted, and the relevant limit values (min/max) are provided for use in external devices via digital switching outputs (relays/transistors).

The switching points for the min/max limit-value, switching hysteresis, delay time and the individual switching behaviour (high trip/low trip) can be individually set.

Any deviations or signal interruptions can be evaluated as operational faults.

Targeted steps to rectify the problem can then be initiated.

Weidmuller Micromann AR Series Analog Signal Converters Distributors

Process Monitoring

Weidmuller's process instruments from the AR, UPI, R and DPA series are part of a wide-ranging line of innovative products designed for analogue signal processing.

These instruments are specifically designed for the complex and demanding requirements of modern process automation applications.

The product series, ranging from simple dedicated units to complex microprocessor-controlled devices, can be used with almost all signal types and measurement sensors.

The products also offer a variety of integrated functions, such as timing delays, adjustable threshold values, high-/low-trip switching behaviour and scalable displays.

The frequency isolating transformers with alarm function from the UPI SERIES convert standard analogue current and voltage signals into a proportional frequency. The AR SERIES of signal isolating converters, with alarm function for process automation, provide a flexible interface between the sensor and the control system.

Displays

Displays are used in industrial and process automation for the visual display of data or for the analogue presentation of electrical and non-electrical measurement values. They are an important tool for user prompting, diagnostics and logging when operating machines and systems. Displays support dialogue-based operation, display measured values and fault reports, and are used to monitor processes. Features, such as the internal calculation of process variables, digital and analogue outputs or interference suppression functions upgrade simple displays to high-quality process interfaces which can independently control sub-processes.

Weidmuller RS-SERIES 8-Bit Analog To Digital Converters Distributors

A/D & D/A Converters

A/D converters convert analogue signals into digital signals. They are used for converting standardized analogue current and voltage signals into 8-bit digital signals. Thus they are particularly well suited for process monitoring tasks. RS U-D8 A/D & RS I-D8 A/D converters digitize analogue voltage signals and have 8-bit accuracy. All modules are equipped with a hold function, i.e. the momentary output value is maintained even during a change to the input value.

D/A converters convert digital signals into analogue signals. They are used for converting 8-bit digital signals into standardized analogue current and voltage signals. Thus they are particularly well suited for process monitoring tasks. The RS D8-I and RS D8-U D/A converters are used to convert digital signals to analogue signals. The digital signals are available here in an 8-bit parallel structure. All modules are equipped with a hold & enable function, i.e. the momentary output value is maintained even during a change to the input value.

Red Lion Encoders

The Model ZBG & ZBH units contain an L.E.D. light source and a photo sensor that scans a shaftmounted, slotted disc. An internal pulse-shaping amplifier circuit delivers a rectangular pulse signal from the current sinking output in response to the passing slots as it rotates. They can be direct-coupled to a machine shaft by means of a flexible bellows, spring, or rubber sleeve type coupling that allows for axial and radial

NK Technologies Switch

For New Installations, the installation is just as easy. Just remove the top portion of the sensing ring, place the conductors inside, and snap the top back in place. The switch output is powered from the primary circuit, and the setpoint is adjustable between a very wide range. The solid-state contact provides a trouble free, long lasting and very durable alarm or interlock, improving safety and overall system reliability.
