 Weidmuller DC/DC Passive Isolators |
DC/DC Passive Isolator
- The passive disconnector takes its power from the measuring signal and does not need any
Auxiliary Power Supply.
- The power needed internally is so minimal that the transmission characteristics are unaffected.
- The supply can be connected on either the input or the output side.
- The advantages are: no power effects, high accuracy, small signal delay and low voltage requirements. The passive
disconnector does not operate without interaction, i.e. changes on the load side have an effect on the input side.
|
 Weidmuller DC/DC 2-Way Isolators |
DC/DC 2-Way Isolator
- A 2-way isolation separates the signals electrically and decouples the measuring circuits.
- Potential differences caused by long lines and common reference points are eliminated.
- Moreover, the electrical isolation protects against damage caused by overvoltages as well as inductive and
capacitive couplings.
|
 Weidmuller DC/DC 3-Way Isolators |
DC/DC 3-Way Isolator
- The active disconnector (isolation amplifier) draws its voltage from a separate voltage source to ensure
trouble-free functioning and power supply.
- Depending on the application, input, output and voltage supply are kept separate.
- In the case of a 3-way isolation, only one supply, isolated from the measuring circuits, is required.
- This prevents damage to the downstream control electronics in the case of short-circuit, overvoltage or polarity
reversal.
- Active disconnectors function without interaction, i.e. a change to the load has no effect on the input circuit.

Weidmuller Temperature RTD Signal Isolators/Converters |
Temperature RTD Signal Isolators/Converters
- A variety of resistance thermometers (e.g., PT100) are used to measure temperature in an industrial environment.
These are used with 2-, 3-, or 4-wire technology.
- We distinguish here between PTC and NTC thermistors. For an exact temperature measurement, the resistance value
must be logged, linearised and converted into an analogue signal proportional to the temperature.
- Signal isolators/converters take on important functions in such situations. They isolate signals between the harsh
industrial environments and the downstream electronics.
- Furhermore, they compensate for potential differences caused by long distances. Sensor-related inadequacies such as
cold joints and linearity errors are also minimised.
|
Weidmuller Thermocouple Element Signal Isolators/Converters |
Thermocouple Element Signal Isolator/Converter
- The thermoelement exploits the effect that a voltage increasing with the temperature is generated at the interface
between two different metals. Popular applications include measurements in melting, plastic injection-moulding and
aluminium diecasting plants with temperatures exceeding approx. 250°C.
- Signal Isolators/converters take on important functions in
such situations. They isolate signals between the harsh industrial environments and the downstream electronics. They
compensate for potential differences caused by long distances, and convert thermal EMFs into standard signals.
- Sensor-related inadequacies such as cold joints and linearity errors are also minimised.
|
 Weidmuller Frequency Signal Isolators/Converters |
Frequency Signal Isolators/Converters
- Frequency converters are used to convert input signals with frequencies up to 100 kHz into standardised output
signals 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 10 V. Thanks to their good variability, many different setting options can be
implemented.
- The connection on the input side is suitable for both 2- and 3-wire PNP/NPN or Namur initiators.
- Moreover, we can supply DC/f converters which convert standardised analogue signals into frequencies from 0 to
16 kHz. They are incorporated in a Compact Terminal Enclosure
just 6 mm wide.
|
 Weidmuller Bridge Measuring Converters |
Bridge Measuring Transducers
- The per BRIDGE, in its WAVEBOX enclosure just 17.5 mm wide, is a bridge measuring transducer which imports the
signals from a Wheatstone bridge and converts them into standardised analogue values.
- The component has full 3-way isolation and can be programmed as required via DIP switches.
- The Transducer provides a precise bridge power supply with diverse
calibration options.
- A change in the resistance of the measuring bridge is detected immediately and imported.
- Typical applications include force, weight and torsion measurements.
|
 Weidmuller Supply Isolators |
Supply Isolators
- The MAS supply separators are used as the link between
Sensors and control. As a rule, they separate the
measuring signal from the sensor and the PLC or DCS.
- The external DC power supply simultaneously supplies the supply isolators and the field sensors.
- The supply isolator is suitable, optionally, for the transmission of the HART protocol. Here, a data signal is
modulated onto the carrier signal (measuring signal 4 to 20mA) which is used for communication between sensor and
control.
|
 Weidmuller Preprocessing Logic Modules |
Preprocessing Logic Modules
- Logic functions AND, NAND, OR and NOR in modular terminal format with a rated cross-section of 4 mm². They each have
five inputs which are fed with logic gating via a 24 V/20 mA PNP output. The logic components can be used for many
applications involving the coupling of digital sensor/actuator signals with automation devices.
|
 Weidmuller Current Monitoring Modules |
Current Monitoring Modules
- Current monitoring products convert sine-wave or non-sine-wave alternating and direct currents up to 60 A into
standardised analogue signals. Relay outputs for limit value monitoring are also available as an option. The measuring
techniques are based on two basic principles; the transformer-based technique measures alternating currents up to 10 A
and 50/60 Hz. To do this, the module is looped directly into the measuring circuit. The Hall element is used for
currents exceeding 10 A UC. Here, the no-voltage conductor is plugged directly into the module, which permits current
measurements up to 60 A UC.
|
 Weidmuller Voltage Monitoring Modules |
Current Monitoring Modules
- Voltage monitoring modules monitor 1- and 3-phase systems up to 450 V AC/DC and are electrically isolated. Analogue
signals or relay contacts for direct undervoltage or overvoltage monitoring are available on the output side. Due to
extreme loading or relieving of the voltage supply, brief voltage fluctuations can occur which have a negative effect
on the process. The WAVECONTROL VMA/VMR modules transmit the relevant information to the control in order to be able
to initiate suitable measures concerning process safety. The modules are built into a compact WAVEBOX enclosure just
22.5 mm wide.
|
 Weidmuller Threshold Monitoring Modules |
Limit Value Monitoring Modules
- Limiting-value modules monitor process parameters and send a signal immediately to the master control if set values
are exceeded or not reached. It is possible to define the on and off points as required. Hystereses and various
monitoring parameters can also be set.
