Yaskawa G7 Variable Speed Drives
Yaskawa G7 Drives

This amazing AC drive is the ultimate performance solution with increased speed and torque response to provide servo-like performance from an induction motor in speed, torque, or position control applications. In addition, the G7 Yaskawa drive has the world's first 480V 3-level inverter architecture that eliminates or minimizes the installation problems associated with IGBT switching (very long cable lengths, bearing currents, and common mode currents) and protects the entire motor-drive system.

Yaskawa G7 can be programmed using DriveWorksEZ software. This is a PC-based, object-oriented, graphical icon, programming tool that is friendly to the user. The G7 / Configured package provides a Yaskawa G7 drive in either a NEMA 12, UL Type 1 (IP22 or IP54 depending on the exact rating) enclosure, with space for factory-mounted and wired options, such as Reactors, filters, Circuit Breakers, fuses, network communications and I/O cards etc.

If you are looking for Yaskawa Drive, please call us on (800) 894 - 0412 or email us at info@clrwtr.com we will do our best to help you find the Yaskawa G7 Variable Frequency Drives that you are looking for at very reasonable prices. If you are searching for Yaskawa G7 Inverter technical information (data-sheets) please use the Yaskawa Datasheets or Product Selection Guide page links.

Note that 240 volt Yaskawa drives do not present such issues. Future enhancements like CASE software and Yaskawa WorksEZ PLC like programming will provide a very flexible offering for the special applications. The G7 Yaskawa drive is available in 240 and 480 volt ratings, from 1/2 to 500 HP. Overload capabilities are defined as Yaskawa Drives Heavy Duty (150% for 1 minute). The G7 Yaskawa VFD Inverter is available to all Yaskawa Electric America industrial drive distributors in North and South America same as Yaskawa F7 Drive.

The G7 Yaskawa drive will be manufactured in Buffalo Grove starting in early 2005. Until then, Yaskawa G7 drives will be obtained from Japan. All are the North American "U spec" version. The G7 Yaskawa drive is currently for sale in Europe and Asia. Yaskawa drives' Network Communications Options include Profibus DP, DeviceNet, Ethernet Modbus TCP/IP, LonWorks, Modbus Plus, Modbus RTU, and all others as developed, same as for Yaskawa F7 drive. The plug in option cards are the same as for Yaskawa drive F7 series inverters. Yaskawa Drive Wizard Version 6.0 will be issued to fully support G7. The array of configurations will be similar to the Yaskawa F7 drive. Yaskawa drive G7 series will be released in a second phase product launch in the near future.

The G7 Yaskawa drive carton will include a paper copy of the Tech Manual TM.G7.01. Any prior G7 Yaskawa drive customers that received the earlier TOE-S616-60.1, YEC international English manual, can request a replacement at no charge. The carton also includes CD.AFD7.01, which covers Yaskawa F7 drive, G7 Yaskawa drive, and Yaskawa P7 drive inverter products. The G5 Yaskawa drive 600 Volt produces an output of adjustable voltage and frequency to control the speed of a squirrel cage induction motor. Yaskawa PWM design provides low motor noise and high starting torque. Yaskawa G5's current overload rating is 150% for 60 seconds. G5 Yaskawa drive provides 3 modes of control and speed accuracy to suit application requirements; V/Hz (2%), sensorless vector (0.1%), or flux vector control (0.01% with motor mounted encoder and drive mounted PG-X2 card required).

All of Yaskawa's products must pass rigorous quality assurance (QA) standards, combining leading edge technology, unsurpassed performance and user friendly application with absolute reliability. Yaskawa consistently applies quality control (QC) and reliability control (RC) methods across the company's operations, beginning with product planning and design and extending to order entry and after sale service. During the production process, Yaskawa assures product quality by utilizing the techniques of statistical quality control (SQC). Because of its outstanding achievements in quality assurance, Yaskawa Electric is the first manufacturer specializing in industrial electronic equipment to win the prestigious Deming Application Prize. Founded in 1915, Yaskawa is a global leader in the research, development and manufacturing of industrial and commercial inverter drive products.

While not a problem for drive installations with normal cable length or lower system voltages, AC Inverter Drives, applied on 480 VAC systems with extremely long cable runs between the drive and the motor, have been known to cause problems with motor bearings, insulation breakdown, and other issues caused by the combination of cables impedance and the dv/dt generated by transistor switching. The usual solution heretofore, has been to install peripheral harmonic filters and other gear to reduce the effects. The better solution and usually at less total cost, is the new Yaskawa G7 drive with 3-lever inverter design. The Yaskawa G7 VFD is the world's first commercially available drive with this design.

The GPD 515/G5 AC Yaskawa drive incorporates a 32-bit RISC microcontroller to handle all logic functions as well as the complex, sine coded PWM generating algorithms that control IGBT switching. Using flash ROM and application specific integrated circuits, the Yaskawa drive provides the benefits of all digital control, serial communications, and adjustments that don't age, drift or vary with line voltage. The Yaskawa drive is such an excellent choice because it incorporates three control modes in one product; traditional V/Hz, open loop vector, and closed loop flux vector control performance.
