To achieve 10 Gbps Ethernet transmission speed, the M12 X-Code connector features advanced shielding design paired with Category 7 copper cable. TURCK announces a new long-range inductive proximity sensor using FDA rated materials for washdown applications. The Q42 available in a top facing model and front facing model is an addition to the uprox+ family of factor one sensors that require no correction factor to detect any metal type. The Q42 is designed to deliver optimal performance in applications that require frequent cleaning with chemicals found in food and beverage applications or where the sensor is exposed to wet environments, such as car washes or outdoor applications.
The Q42 features an improved design with a durable stainless steel connector and PA12 thermoplastic housing that delivers resistance to chemicals and caustic cleaning agents, as well as shock from impact. Additionally, the upgraded housing materials are food-safe and meet FDA Regulation 21CFR 177, 1500(9) for the U.S. and FDA/EGVO 1935/2004 for the E.U.
The Q42 features integrated predamping that gives the designer flexibility to partially recess the sensor into their design. The miniature sensors augment TURCK's existing line of Uprox+ sensors that detect all metals at the same rated sensing distance. This extremely compact module provides complete galvanic isolation, and up to 2.5 kV for the input, output and power supply. Galvanically isolated IMS modules are available with signal conditioning that acts as a dead-zero to live-zero signal, or one and two channel modules are available without signal conditioning. Modules are also available for temperature detection using Pt-100 technology or other thermo-elements. Those that use Pt-100 technology achieve 0.3 percent of the full scale, and are available with 2, 3 or 4 wire connections. TURCK's BL67 modular distributed I/O system is now equipped with a Simple RFID (RFID-S) slice that's compatible with the company's BL ident RFID product line.
The RFID-S includes two channels of RFID per slice with the option of four slices per node, resulting in up to eight channels of RFID per node.
TURCK's IP67 rated BL67 system also allows discrete and analog I/O to be added to the same node.
The RFID-S slice is designed with digitized communication allowing up to 50 meters between transceiver and the slice without the induction of noise, and all channels operate in parallel so there is no time delay during communication between the tag and the read/write head.
The BL67 RFID-S slice is designed for use with PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, Modbus, EtherNet/IP and CANopen networks. The base module includes M12 connectors that facilitate easy attachment of cables. The BL67 system may be mounted directly on the machine without requiring an enclosure, making it suitable for nearly any application that requires a rugged distributed I/O system.
TURCK introduces the new rotary single axis inclinometer, expanding its dual axis CANopen inclinometer offering for angular tilt detection. With a monitoring range of 360 degrees, the single axis inclinometer provides extended application flexibility, allowing operators to easily monitor mechanical arms, such as tensioners or moving components. Its CANopen communications also makes it ideally suited for mobile equipment, such as monitoring and reporting position of outriggers, booms or other vertically rotating parts.
The single axis inclinometer measures angular tilt in reference to gravity. At the heart of the TURCK inclinometer are MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) devices that incorporate micro-electromechanical capacitive elements into the sensor that utilize two parallel plate electrodes, one stationary and one attached to a springmass system.
Movement causes acceleration that produces deflection in the non-stationary electrodes. This results in a measurable change in the capacitance between the two plates that is proportional to the angle of deflection. All measured values and parameters are accessible via the object directory. The micro board design in the MEMS technology allows for a compact, precise inclinometer in a very robust, industrialized package. TURCK single axis inclinometers offer rugged, IP68-rated housing and reliable operation in temperatures ranging from -40 to +70°C.
TURCK's line of magnetic cylinder position switches has been expanded to include the BIM-UNR, a miniature sensor designed to mount within C-groove cylinders with no accessories required. Its dimensions of 2.9 x 4.6 x 18 mm make the BIM-UNR one of the most compact sensors on the market. The sensor can be inserted into a C-groove from the top rather than from the side, simplifying installation.
On the sensor's side is a built-in tab that keeps the sensor in place to facilitate one-handed mounting. The BIM-UNR sensor also incorporates a 1.5 mm hexagon mounting screw that requires only a quarter-turn to securely mount the sensor. As this mounting screw is located near the cable exit, the sensor remains fastened even if the cable is pulled. Magnetic field sensors for short-stroke cylinders and parallel grippers are very compactly designed. The all-round visible LED allows the switching state to be observed from any position. All standard connection types are available.
Since the BIM-UNR sensor is designed to fit inside the C-groove, it is protected from mechanical damage. In addition, the sensor's active sensing element is located at the bottom of the groove as close to the magnet as possible providing reliable detection, especially on shortstroke cylinders. BIM-UNR sensors are also highly immune to EMC interference in accordance with EN 60947-5-2.
TURCK announces the new 3 and 4-pin M16 powerfast connectors that provide up to 15 Amps of current in a small molded body. These powerfast connectors are excellent for conveyor, small motor and material handling applications. The cordsets are available with a tray rated, exposed run PVC flexlife cable. All connectors provide IEC IP 67 protection, and are rated for 600 VAC/VDC.
Like most TURCK cordsets, the M16 powerfast line offers male or female, straight connectors, standard and custom lengths, and pigtails or extensions. Fully encapsulated mating receptacles with nickel-plated brass housing and 1/2"-14 NPT, 3/8"-18 NPT, M18 and M20 mounting threads complete the system.
